Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Review and September Beauty Favourites
We're another month down in 2017 and it's time to wrap up my monthly favourites again! This month I heavily trialled the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in shade 2. I have seen this foundation all over the beauty blogger-sphere and had to try it for myself. I purchased the foundation from the Myer website and the shade matched perfectly.
Face:
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, shade 2
I had another foundation matched to my skin at Mecca and I added this shade into findation.com to see the shade i would be in this foundation. I've never done this before so I was pretty scared to order such an expensive product without testing it first! I went ahead and ordered the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation online at Myer and it matched perfcectly!
Revlon x Chloe Morello Palette*
I feel like I’ve mentioned this palette before and if I haven’t, then I should have. I always use this for contouring and bronzing. I haven’t even picked up my ABH colour palette since I started using this.
Personally, I don’t wear a harsh contour and this is perfect for something light and a bit of definition. My skin is pretty pale and I would say this definitely works better on paler skin tones. If I’m creating a really bronze look, I use these in the crease of my eyelids too. It’s super compact and I always take this with me to work if I know I’m going out in the evening, the pigment picks up well and isn’t too heavy which is what I like. I have worn this over pretty much all foundations I’ve tried, I most often use the Estee Lauder Double Wear [review here].
Skincare:
Estee Lauder Night Eye Cream*
I have normally neglected skincare until around this time last year I heard someone say that starting early is key! Honestly, it freaked me out a little. How early do you want me to start my skincare!?! Anyway, this eye cream has been a breeze to use, plus it’s soothing just before bed. It feels pretty good to me!
Du’It Tough Hands* - Sensitive Skin Repair
A few of you might’ve seen my stupid InstaStories at 4:30 am, getting out of bed and heading to the gym like a freak in the early hours of the morning. Well, since I’ve been picking up heavy things and putting them back down again - my hands are showing it! Calluses have always freaked me out, I guess they’re a sign of hard work and strength but I’m still going to moisturise them away! This is why I’ve been loving the Tough Hand moisturiser, it’s been working so well on my little calluses and I always spread it to moisturise the back of my hands too.
McArthur Muscle pain
If I’m already talking about calluses I might as well let you guys know about my other favourite relevant to the gym this month. It helps a little with muscle pain and I’ve been loving this after workouts! The full review is here, and a bit about some other McArthur products I used throughout August too.
Hair:
Olaplex
Seriously this stuff is life saving! The BoBlonde Salon have been using this on my hair for a year and it's so much thicker. I also have very minimal split ends.
I often put this in damp hair after an evening shower and sleep with it in. Sometimes I wash it out in the morning or the next evening.
Eyes:
Renaissance Palette
I had this on my Wishlist at the end June and I have no idea what I did before this palette came into my life. I was using the Stila red shades to make my eyes pop which I still love, but this palette of pinks, mauves, oranges and glitters is just perfect. I have already created so many looks with this, it was definitely a purchase I’m happy with!
The pigment is amazing, which I’m sure most of you have already read. I also loved the mixture of glitters and matte shades, it’s nice to have both in a palette especially for evening looks.
The palette packaging is so nice and smooth too, I think they actually got everything right with this one?
Bobbi Brown Mascara*
I’ve been using the Estee Lauder mascara for around 3 months now and this has come along at the perfect time! I can create long lashes with the Bobbi brown wand, or I can use it for volume when I’m wearing false lashes. I definitely prefer the lengthening properties though!
Lips:
Mac Lip Conditioner*
Can I just say that this has been incredible to use? I was gifted one in a tube and another in a stick and they’re just amazing. I use them even when I’m not wearing lipstick because they’re so soothing. I often have dry lips (forgetting to hydrate is so easy!!) and it is moisturising for so long with or without lipstick worn over it. I’ll definitely be purchasing these when I finish both!
Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipstick
Lipstick has always been a tough one for me - I’m not really a bold colour person! I much prefer nudes and muted tones. The Estee Lauder Lipstick in Crazy Beautiful 430 feels like it's made perfectly for me. It’s matte, a pink-nude and super creamy. I often wear this day to night, especially with a taupe eye look. The shade Ripped Rasin 460 looked like a dark red from the packaging so I was really hesitant to try it. Now it’s one of my most used lipsticks! It’s a sheer shimmery red with pearl flecks and I love using it to lightly define my lips, especially on a day where I’m not feeling 100%. I feel like this colour can lift my mood or complete a look without too much fuss. I can definitely apply this without a lip liner for a casual pop of colour.
Maybelline Lipsticks*
(Below) I love these two lipsticks for everyday! I don't find them as long lasting as many of my other lipsticks but I do love the pigmentation.
Chai Lip Scrub*
Now that I’m obsessed with 100 lipsticks at once, I have to use a lip scrub to make sure my lipstick sits well, especially mattes. This Chai scrub smells sooo good, I think I probably overuse it just a tad.
Avene Skincare
I’ve used a bunch of Avene products lately and I’m using the Hydrating Serum and Micellar water almost every day! They’re definitely favourites for this month and you can read my full review of Avene products here.
