Bare Minerals and Becca Cosmetics Review with RY Beauty
Recently I was lucky enough to receive a few beautiful items from RY Australia to test out!
I have made a few makeup posts before and if you follow my snapchat, you'll notice my make-up drawer is over flowing as I find new products and I have slowly become completely obsessed.
The items above include; Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadwo 8.0- The power Neutrals, Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion in Shell, Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Leche and the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone. Hopefully as you readr my reviews, you can find something new to love!
Other products in my essential makeup bag: Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe, L'Oreal Paris Infallible Liquid Foundation
The palette by Bare Minerals is available here.
Almost travel sized, this palette contains all of the pigments I would normally gravitate towards with my Urban Decay palette. They're similar, I have used the brown shades and the lighter highlighting shades down to a bare pan. This little kit is also around her size of my palm, perfect as a travel palette. The box also comes with mini instructions if you're stuck or searching for a new look. I definitely vouch for deep browns blended out from the eyelid crease, then using the lighter shades underneath the brow arch and at the inner corners of the eye. These create a deeper and bigger eye, and can also create a soft daytime smokey eye.
Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion is available here
I love finding new foundations, especially those that last all day. This foundation by Becca has a matte finish and although it dries super fast when applying, I don't get a shiny face all day.
I apply it with a brush, though it might be better to use a damp blending sponge. This will help to spread a smaller amount of product over a wider area avoiding any drier problem areas. If you're using a brush, use a water-based primer that the foundation doesn't dry too quickly before you can blend it. The matte finish gives a flawless look, although it is truly up to your skincare that defines how matte foundation will work for you. Other than that, the packaging is elegant and simple. It's thinner than most foundation bottles, making it a little easier to squeeze into the top of my makeup bag!
Bite Lip Crayon is available here
Since I took this lip pencil out of the packaging, I've worn it almost everyday! It's a natural looking nude/peach colour on me that I can wear day to day, and it's still very pigmented. I found it easy to apply and manipulate, I can line my top lip starting from the outer corners into the cupid bow, and also fill in a small area of the lip, then smudge it onto the lower lip. This way I don't use too much product, as it is a matte formula and can sometimes look dry if your lips aren't in good condition. Though I found even when my lips haven't been very well behaved, the crayon is semi hydrating and can be worn with a lip balm over the top if needed! It gives me a little bit of colour and definition for everyday wear. Bite also claims to be
"free of polybutenes, sulfates, and petroleum byproducts and gluten free, made with food-grade ingredients!"(See here)
Becca Shimmer in Moonstone is available here
This highlight is the first powder highlight I've used, I normally stick to Benefit or Luma by Jess Hart. Using a large powder brush, I found the shimmer highlight looked most natural when lightly dusted on after setting my foundation with translucent powder from Nude by Nature. Now I use it everyday along with my Bite crayon! If I'm going out I will use a smaller brush to dust it over my cupids bow and under my brow arch for a little bit of definition against contouring. It's become a part of my everyday routine, and feels lighter than a liquid highlight. Can I also comment on how much I love Becca packaging! Its so sleek and thin, though doesn't come with an applicator. This means that using a powder brush with the shimmer is needed, but I find it looks more natural that way.
Let me know if you've tried any of these products and how they worked for you, or if you use any alternatives that you absolutely love! I'm in love with these new additions to my makeup collection and I'll definitely be shopping on RY to treat myself! I hope these reviews can help a few people decide their thoughts on some products that you might be considering, make-up reviews are definitely the most fun!
